Unique headset top and EFL speedo

Brief History

First produced in 1984, the Vespa P125ETS was aimed solely at the enthusiast side of the scooter market.

Based on the Vespa PK125, the ETS was given a major face-lift and some engine tuning to create a unique sports version of the otherwise bland commuter scooters in the Vespa line up.

Vespa wanted their flagship to stand out and look special.

The design department went into overdrive, replacing the headset top and horncast with new streamlined moulds, unique to this scooter. The headset now took the EFL speedo of the "large frame" Vespas, and the horn had to be repositioned behind slats cut in the legshields.
The rear end was modified with low slung indicators and fitted with the rear light unit from a Vespa V100.
To finish off the sporty appearance decals were placed on the sides of the mudguard and panel doors, and it was given a seat with "ETS" written along the side.

The engine was fitted with a 20mm carb, 3-port cylinder, strengthened crank, unique exhaust, and electronic ignition for the extra punch.

Sales of the ETS seemed to be very slow due to the outlandish styling and when Vespa released the PX125T5 a year later the ETS was doomed to the backseat of history.
